Dr. Lee's Academic Journal: Reduction genioplasty in three dimension

Today's post is dedicated to Dr. Jin-Su, Lee's academic journal from the PRS Korea 2018.
His journal is based from his know-hows and surgical experiences about genioplasty reduction.

The chin area is very important as it completes the whole outer facial line. Therefore, patients usually do the chin surgery along with other contour surgery such as cheekbone reduction and the jaw surgery.

Chin surgery is usually categorized in four different types: Reduction, Advancement, Setback, Implants.
The basic method of chin surgery is to resect the center of chin bone in T-shape, pull it out and then gather the fragments of chin on the end sides to complete the V line.
This method is effective as in a way to prevent from droopy skin and predict the result before the actual surgery.

If the height of the chin is desired to be shortened, chin bone will be resected in a triangle shape, and T-osteotomy is recommended when the width to be shortened.

At Faceline plastic surgery clinic, Dr. Lee recommends the T-osteotomy method as it can achieve natural chin line and facial reduction from the front as well as from the side.
He also suggests to find the right and experienced surgeon who can understand your face and your bone structures.
