Breathing after rhinoplasty, how to take care of my nose?

One of the common inconvenience that patients may experience after rhinoplasty is breathing through the nose. Nose will be covered, it will start swelling, and you will have runny nose which you'll feel very cumbersome.

Today's post will let you know how to breath after rhinoplasty and to take a good care of your nose after surgery.

You will have a gauze placed under your nose right after the surgery, but don't take it out right after when you go back home, or even if the blood stops running. If you have a gauze placed inside the nose, it's possible to take it out after the one day.

If you have too much runny nose that bothers you from breathing, then it's OK to gently dab the area, but not to rub it too hard. However, be careful not to touch the implant, or cartilage before they settle in. Therefore, avoid from blowing nose too hard, touching the nose often, putting your head down or wearing glasses. Avoiding external shocks to your nose should be followed until the first 6 weeks. Also, keep the humidifier near you to prevent from nose dryness.

Washing a face is what most patients are curious about. Light washing with water is possible after taking out the stitches. Stitches will be taken out usually after 2 weeks and until that period, avoid from contacting water with the surgical area. When washing your face, don't rub your nose hard or let cleanser go inside your nose.

It's important to bring the best result after the surgery. Please keep in mind not to give your nose any form of a irritation for at least a month.
