The false common sense of facial contouring surgery 2

Can't we make the clear face line with facial contouring surgery?

The shape of the face is determined in part by the skeleton, but the actual face includes the skin, fat and muscles around the bone. For example, the same square jaw may have different reasons. Jawbone itself is wide or angular and the muscles may have been developed thickly to look broad.

That's why you have to plan for the facial contouring surgery by considering the bones and the surrounding cartilage. If the cartilage remains intact when the bones are cut, chances are high that the results will differ from those expected before the surgery.
One of the things I often hear during facial contouring surgery consultations is that I want my jawline clear when seen from the side. However, since the surgery is a bone-reduction procedure, it has nothing to do with the fact that the jawline is becoming clearer.

The larger the difference between the bone and the cartilage, the more prominent the jaw line is, the more likely the jaw line is to be blurred or weakened if the large and strong bone is reduced by facial contouring surgery.

In general, people with highly developed bone often have strong and distinct jaw lines, and if the jawbone is reduced due to a contour surgery, the jaw line will be moderately blurred and improved to a desirable shape. On the contrary, if you have a short jaw or fatty jawline, you are unlikely to get a clear jawline by the surgery.

Therefore, in order to reduce the bone size and make the jaw line clear, it is recommended to check the condition of each individual's bones and cartilage and perform appropriate procedures at the same time. If there is a lot of fat around the chin, liposuction procedures such as acurifting can reduce fat, and if skin's reaction level (elasticity) decrease, lifting procedures (elastic laser, facial geometry, etc.) can increase the effectiveness of facial lubrication and change the jaw line more clearly.
Lee Jin-soo, head of Faceline Plastic Surgery, said, “The shape of bones and connective tissue are different, just as each person looks. So it is not right to ask for the same cut as others. The goal of plastic surgery is to create a face that looks natural, so you better choose a place where can provide you a 1:1 surgery plan that fits your face shape based on systematic counseling and thorough testing with a plastic surgeon to achieve a satisfactory result."
