Importance of brushing the teeth after two jaw surgery

Two jaw surgery involves with an incision inside the mouth. So it's very important to keep the mouth clean for every time. It's to prevent the incision area from any infection or inflammation.

However, many patients feel the inconvenience to clean the teeth because of the fixation after the surgery. Today's post is about brushing the teeth or do mouthwash.


How often do I need to mouthwash?
More than 10 times in a day is needed. Especially, after drinking any beverage, porridge and eating food is a must. Using the mouthwash that was given to you from the clinic for first 3~4 days after the surgery. Pour the mouthwash about 2/3 in a cup, and divide this mouthwash into 10 sips to do the washing. Brushing teeth isn't allowed before taking out the stitches.

How to do the right mouthwash.
Unlike the normal mouthwash, you have to tilt your head into right and left position with the mouthwash inside your mouth. After finishing using the mouthwash that was given, you can use with saline solution for about a month. The most important thing you have to remember is not to use Listerine or any other mouthwash selling at the market. It has to be with saline solution.


When can I start washing my teeth?
Usually after 2 weeks after the surgery is possible which is after taking out the stitches.
Buy small and soft children's teeth brush to brush only your teeth not the gum. Even after you started brushing your teeth, do the mouthwash for a month together.
