Dr. Jinsoo Lee, Faceline plastic surgery clinic plastic surgeon specializing in plastic surgery, held a conference on "Discovering the Beauty" at Parnas, Inter-Continental Seoul, Seoul, for three days from November 10th to 12th. He was invited to the International Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (PRS KOREA 2017) and received a lecture on <Ideal mandibular contour and mandibular contour plastic surgery>.



In the 11th lecture, Dr. Lee stated that the contour of the lower mandible is moderately narrower than that of the mid-face, and that the length of the lower lip of the lower lip is not long, the width of the jaw is not wide, and the middle portion of the jaw line should be smooth. In addition, the fat layer of the soft tissues covering the jaw line should be thin, and it is an attractive jaw line that the skin is elastic and the jaw line is clearly visible. In the case of the tip of the chin, it is a method that can derive a more effective change by not removing the tip of the jaw but by removing the middle portion and moving the jaw end bone to rearrange. Such an ideal chin line surgery to improve the description of the mandibular profile was described.



Dr. Lee stated, “In order to improve the ideal mandibular contour, it is possible to complete the smooth shape of the desired shape when the response of the soft tissues is taken into consideration to remove a lot of bones in areas with low response and to reduce the areas where soft tissues respond well.” Also he mentioned, "If there is too much fat on the jaw line, or if the elasticity is low, the amount of change may be less than expected by contour surgery alone. In this case, it is more effective to perform the appropriate lifting procedure according to the symptoms"
