No.18 Cosmetic essay by Dr. Lee Jin soo- Beauty early education

Finding a child's talent early on and developing this talent through appropriate education, so-called early education, is a great weapon for a child's life. Please note that this early education also applies to beauty as well.

The most important factor in my face type is the growth of the jaw.
Generally speaking, the jaw refers to the bone that occupies the lower lip, but anatomically the jaw means the bone with teeth. In other words, there will be a lower jaw (mandible) with a lower jaw (maxilla) and lower teeth with a position jaw. As a child grows, the other part grows and jaw grows. Because the jawbone contains teeth, problems with the growth of the jawbone are manifested as the problem of engagement of the up and down teeth (occlusion).

A normal occlusal relationship refers to a state in which the entire tooth is evenly covered with the lower teeth under the teeth.
On the other hand, a malfunctioning occlusal relationship is called malocclusion.
If the growth of the lower jaw is excessive, it will not cover the teeth below. The lower teeth are engaged with the lower teeth (edge-to-edge bite), and the teeth below the tooth are brought forward (crossbite or Angle grade 3 malocclusion). In this case, the face will show the shape of jutting chin.

On the other hand, if the growth of the lower jaw is insufficient, the lower teeth will be covered with a lot of teeth and will not be seen or seen (Angle grade 2 malocclusion). In this case, the face is short with a short chin.

If the lateral growth of the lower jaw is different, the jaw tilts as the pendulum tilts to one side. The center line of the lower and lower teeth is distorted. In this case, the face will show a slanted shape from the lip to the lower jaw.

Sometimes it is necessary to pay attention to the child's tooth relationship. It is important to check that the lower teeth are in place and that they are properly engaged. If you feel that this relationship is not appropriate at all, or if you do not know how to look at it, you can find a surgeon who corrects your face type, such as a dental professional or me, and get a test.

Malocclusion is corrected through orthodontic treatment or chin correction. Not too much malocclusion is corrected by orthodontic treatment, but malocclusion beyond a certain range is corrected by orthodontic treatment with chin correction. In the case of severe malocclusion requiring surgery, the orthodontist and the surgeon who corrects the face type should be seen together.

It is advisable to visit a dentist who specializes in orthodontics and get orthodontic consultations when a permanent tooth appears on the front teeth. By age, it is about 6 to 7 years old. However, even at the same age and the same grade, the children are different in height, and the growth stages and velocities are different. Moreover, there may be many differences in the degree of development of the tooth arrangement. So even if a child is 6 years old, if a child has a permanent tooth, I recommend getting a correction consultation.

Focusing on the child's dental relationship and face type, and looking for a specialist at the right time is a beauty early education.
