Things to be prepared for the general anesthesia

As the need for small and slender faces increases, interest in surgery for facial contours and other minor facial contractions is increasing. Two jaw surgery or facial bone surgery like contouring is done by general anesthesia. It is easy to see that general anesthesia applies to surgery that needs to control the movement of the patient.

In addition to facial bone surgery, general anesthesia is applied to liposuction, face lifting and breast surgery.

To ensure safer and more comfortable operation, we must observe precautions before anesthesia. Today, I would like to let you know about the preoperative requirements before general anesthesia.

1. Fasting

Please do not eat or drink any food or drink including water from 12:00 am the day before surgery. (no coffee, gum, candy, smoking)

Smoking and drinking should be stopped at least one week in advance, and after the surgery, should avoid smoking and drinking for one month.

2. Informing the hospital of past medical history and medication

Be careful not to catch a cold and current medical condition or past medical history should be reported to the medical staff before surgery. Aspirin, vitamin E, multivitamins, herbal medicines, and hormones should be reported to the consultant in charge and checked to see if they should be stop taken. If you are taking blood pressure medication and diabetes medication, continue taking it until the day before surgery.

3. Outfit on the day of surgery

Clothes should be worn as comfortable as possible (eg sweatshirts / long skirts or wide pants in case of fat injection or liposuction) and all makeup, nail polish and piercings should be removed. The reason for removing the nail polish is that the condition of the patient is checked by changing the state of the nails and toe nailes during the operation. If you use a contact lens, remove the lens and wear glasses.

4. Self-driving prohibited

Self-driving after surgery is not recommended, and it is advisable to accompany your guardian if possible.

These requirements are not difficult, but it is essential for general anesthesia. Keeping these lists in mind is a great way to improve your safety.
