Bubble cheeks, Bubble jaws

Have you heard of crunchy balloon bread? It’s quite large in size but empty inside and the bread itself is really thin. If you take a big bite without knowing what it is initially, you’re left feeling baffled just getting the thinnest bits of bread remnants in your mouth and not the mouthful of bread you expected.

Those who inquire about surgery involving their face shape are highly interested as to the size of their face. Smaller faces are generally preferred. One of the biggest reasons for wanting surgery is to reduce the size of one's face.

If a face is large, are the facial bones thicker? Is the face size proportional to the thickness of facial bones? Based on my countless experience, I can say there is slight correlation. The size and thickness aren’t completely proportional but those with large facial bones tend to have slightly thicker bones in many cases. Even so, facial bones aren’t as thick as the size. Basically, there is some correlation in the size and thickness of facial bones but this is not proportional.

So what sways the size of facial bones? This is mainly determined by the shape of facial bones itself. It is large if the shape itself is large. As mentioned above, there is no proportional correlation with the thickness of facial bones.

Occasionally, there are cases when large facial bones are thinner than average. The shell is thin but large in size like crunchy balloon bread. In such case, it can be coined bubble cheekbones or bubble jaws.

When substantially reducing the size of facial bones, having thick bones is favorable. As such, I’m also a little taken aback when I come across bubble cheekbones or jaws wherein facial bones are large but thin. This is because they want their face substantially reduced in size but have thinner-than-average facial bones. Nowadays, radiography has become so advanced that you know the thickness of bones prior to surgery but wanting to reduce bubble cheekbones or jaws substantially is unfavorable.

Writing about this has suddenly made me crave crunchy balloon bread. It’s been so long since I’ve had it that I can’t even remember what it tastes like. I’d like to get it and try it once again.
