Bubble cheeks, Bubble jaws

Have you heard of crunchy balloon bread? It’s quite large in size but empty inside and the bread itself is really thin. If you take a big bite without knowing what it is initially, you’re left feeling baffled just getting the thinnest bits of bread remnants in your mouth and not the mouthful of bread you expected. Those who inquire about surgery involving their face shape are highly interested as to the size of their face. Smaller faces are generally preferred. One of the biggest reasons for wanting surgery is to reduce the size of one's face.   If a face is large, are the facial bones thicker? Is the face size proportional to the thickness of facial bones? Based on my countless experience, I can say there is slight correlation. The size and thickness aren’t completely proportional but those with large facial bones tend to have slightly thicker bones in many cases. Even so, facial bones aren’t as thick as the size. Basically, there is some correlation in the size and thickness...

A man who can’t genuinely enjoy beauty

Image
A fundamental step of the plastic surgery I specialize in is knowing what face shape is most attractive. This is because the target face shape can only be determined once the conception of a beautiful face shape is established and a patient’s flaws are grasped. Beauty is actually a matter of impression. Humans instinctively respond to beauty and are pleased by it. People generally just enjoy seeing beauty, which in and of itself is one of the great pleasures in life. But I, myself, can’t simply enjoy beauty. This is because I feel the need to know what exactly is perceived beautiful and why it is perceived beautiful. When finding pleasure in seeing beauty, I feel a sense of obligation to analyze the reason why it is perceived beautiful. Particularly when this is not easily defined, it pains me to find out why to the extent it distresses me. As you can expect, it’s indescribable how rewarding it is once I painstakingly figure out why. Among the numerous audition programs, I enjoy viewin...

Plastic surgery is a selfless act

Image
People readily consider plastic surgery a selfish act as it is mainly solely for oneself to improve one’s appearance. In fact, plastic surgery is largely for self-satisfaction. The onset of plastic surgery is one’s dissatisfaction with one’s appearance. Plastic surgery comes down to changing something dissatisfactory about yourself to a state that is satisfactory. Plastic surgery is immensely self-centered and entirely about personal taste.   Seeing beautiful things makes people feel good. This is the basis of beauty. Our reaction to beauty is not learned academically but innate. Even newborns react to beauty.   Changing something dissatisfactory to a satisfactory state with plastic surgery ultimately leaves you more beautiful. Becoming more attractive essentially has the effect of making everyone around you feel good. People get plastic surgery for self-satisfaction but their more attractive appearance inadvertently brings joy to those around them from seeing beauty...

The rich get richer, the poor get poorer

The facial contouring and double jaw surgeries I specialize in involve handling the frame inside the face. The basic framework of the face is shaped to change the shape of the face on the exterior.  For the facial bone surgery I perform to manifest on the outside, the soft tissue covering the frame needs to reflect the change in facial bones. Accordingly, the better extent to which soft tissue reflects, the better the results of surgery. The main constituents of soft tissue consist of the outer skin, subcutaneous fat, and muscles. As we generally see the skin looking from the exterior, I will refer to soft tissue as skin from hereon. The results of facial bone surgery reflect well if skin meets two conditions.    First, it must be thin . More accurately, thin subcutaneous fat. If this is thick, even if bone surgery changes the frame, less degree of change is reflected on the outside. If I were to compare this with a sculpture, it would be as though a thick winter blanket ...

Beauty hidden within all along

Image
I am a plastic surgeon. There are quite diverse areas in the field of plastic surgery. Among these, I mainly specialize in surgery of facial bones. Facial bone surgery can be divided broadly into two categories. One being the outer facial line, in other words, facial contouring surgery which changes the contour, and the other being double jaw (jaw revision) surgery which changes the placement of the upper and lower jaw including the teeth. The original facial bones are the components used in either surgery. In other words, the facial bone surgeries I perform basically do not involve using artificial implants.    For facial bone surgery, the original facial bones are ideally relocated or trimmed by partially cutting and shaving. What’s amusing is that amazing beauty can be created just by operating on the original facial bones without any artificial implants. It’s moments that I see beauty unveiling little by little before my eyes as I’m performing surgery that bring me great j...

Natural Beauty

Image
“I only want slight surgery so it looks natural!” “I want the most surgery possible so it looks obvious!” These are the comments I hear most when consulting outpatients regarding plastic surgery or when consulting just before surgery.   Most people basically think that being ‘natural’ involves changing a little, and ‘obvious’ means changing considerably.   But ‘natural’ doesn’t actually mean changing a little, it means you can’t tell surgery was performed and the change isn’t awkward looking. You can still end up looking natural even after a substantial amount of surgery. It will look natural even if you’ve transformed a lot if the changes aren’t awkward and it still seems like you were originally born that way.   On the other hand, ‘obvious’ means that you can tell surgery was done. Regardless of the amount of change, it will look like you had work done if you end up looking awkward and it doesn’t seem like you were naturally born like that way. It ...

Faceline's Eye revision

Image
Faceline's Eye revision  Hello, This is Faceline clinic Korea The image may vary depending on the human eye. The eye shape is important because you can judge a person's image with your eyes.  If you've had double eyelid surgery once and you're not satisfied with the line, and you're thinking about the revision, you'll find a hospital famous for double eyelid revision. Before you decide on a hospital for double eyelid, I have prepared some considerations.  Four symptoms that you're concerned about revision 1.The double eyelid line is too thin (possibly too low to hold the line) Leave the existing line and resize the line above the line to adjust the double eyelid size.  2.The double eyelid line is weak or loose (often the fixing point is weak or the surrounding connective tissue is not removed) Depending on the cause of the release, it is firmly fixed so that the eyelid surgery is not performed again or the eyes are not fixed again.  3.The double eyelid lin...
